Working with and Supporting PDA Adults - Wednesday 29th June 2022 (9.30am - 1.30pm) Online via Zoom

About this event

This online course is for professionals working with adults who identify with the autism profile of PDA, and is suitable for anyone working within adult residential settings or adult social care.

This course is also suitable for PA’s who are employed directly by a family to support and care for a PDA adult either within the family home or another setting.

During the course we will discuss:

  • What is PDA?
  • Demands
  • How PDA can feel
  • Helpful approaches
  • Good support
  • Looking at individual needs
  • Collaborative problem solving
  • Resources and where to go for help

We're also delighted to confirm that during this session there will be an opportunity to ask questions directly to:

Julia Daunt - Adult PDAer, PDA Society Trainer, Author, Speaker & Blogger (Me, Myself and PDA - https://memyselfandpda.com/)

We welcome questions and contributions from delegates throughout the course and encourage active participation in plenary discussions. For this reason the session will not be recorded to ensure delegate/client confidentiality.

Cost of course: £70 (excluding eventbrite fees), payable in advance. Limited places are available so please do book promptly if you're interested. When booking your ticket please also let us know if you have any additional needs that may require assistance during the sessions, in order that we can discuss arrangements in advance. Thank you.

After booking, please remember to check your e-mail (messages may be forwarded to your spam/junk folder) for a confirmation receipt from Eventbrite sharing a link for pre-registration. Eventbrite will also send at least two reminders prior to the course taking place.

We recommend that you join the session 5-10min prior to the course starting to ensure your equipment is working correctly as we will be unable to delay the start.

Please note that The PDA Society run separate training events for parents/carers and professionals working with children in education, health or social care. The PDA Society reserves the right to substitute published speakers should unforeseen circumstances arise.

If you have any questions about this course, or any other sessions, please e-mail our training team at: training@pdasociety.org.uk
