Event description

Description

Borderline Personality Disorder or otherwise known as Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder is an enduring mental health disorder. The most prominent features of BPD are self harm/suicidality, emotional instability (unpredictable variations in mood, both sad/happy and angry/irritable), impulsivity (doing things on impulse without due consideration of the consequences) and disordered attachment (stormy relationships, very strong feelings of abandonment when a close relationship ends).

This course aims to explore the diagnostic criteria used to diagnose BPD, and to establish useful approaches and interventions when working alongside some with or without a diagnosis.

This course is suitable for individuals who work with children and families support workers, social workers, care assessors, police, youth offending, probation officers, mental health practitioners, individuals with safeguarding responsibilities, counsellors and therapists, health visitors...

This course is a follow on from our Personality Disorders Course.
