Working with Complex Emotional and Relational Needs in Older People

By Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT)

Overview

Join us for an enlightening training on the complexities of emotional and relational needs in older people

This 1-day awareness course is for staff working with older people who have complex emotional and relational needs (CERN) and/ or a diagnosis of personality disorder.

Training is free for anyone who works with this group of people in Suffolk and North East Essex.

This course is co-produced and co-delivered by people who have lived experience. The aim is to give delegates time to reflect on how this diagnosis impacts people in later life, exploring theory and best practice as a way to improve support.

This training is designed to help you:

· Understand what complex emotional & relational needs are and the diagnosis of ‘personality disorder’

· Explore how complex emotional and relational needs may present in later life and the implications for staff and the people they support

· Develop your understanding of how to work effectively with older people with complex emotional and relational needs

· Reflect on best practice and how to translate this into the work you do.
