Managers and frontline staff routinely work with the most complex and high risk cases. There is never any one approach or method to managing risk, but there are a range of skills and tools to draw on to unpack even the most complex situations.


Learning Outcomes

On completing the course, participants will have a practical understanding of:

  • How to unpack complex decisions down to their component parts

  • How to use decision-making matrixes to help clarify thinking

  • How to revise hypotheses in light of new information

  • How to identify and manage potential future risks

  • Tools that help facilitate critical thinking in complex situations


Target Group

► All managers in Adults and Children’s Services whose staff engage in casework with high conflict and hard-to-engage families.
