This training is for professionals working with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and Young People, helping them understand the cultural and geographical risk factors.


Session 2 Modern Slavery Thursday 16th October 2025
- Understand the different forms of slavery / trafficking under Modern Slavery Act 2015 – the legal framework
-Understand how victims become involved in slavery
-Identify locations and signs that indicate modern slavery
- Understand the referral process – National Referral Mechanism (NRM) & Duty to Notify Home Office
- Promoting and supporting Anti-Slavery Day on 18th October

Session 1 Young People Affected by Intimate Partner Abuse Tuesday 23rd September 2025

Session 3 Incels & Misogyny Tuesday 9th December 2025

Session 4 FGM / Breast Ironing /Flattening Thursday 5th February 2026

Session 5 Honour Based Abuse / Forced Marriage Tuesday 10th March 2026

This training session from Norfolk Virtual School is for Norfolk based professionals working to support our children and young people. Any bookings made by colleagues outside Norfolk where not supporting our cohorts will be contacted and cancelled where appropriate.


Cancellation Policy

This Professional Development is currently fully subsidised by the Virtual School; there are no charges to delegates. If you need to cancel, we kindly ask that you contact us 5 working days before the course start date. This allows us to offer your space to other potential delegates.


The Virtual School reserves the right to cancel or postpone a training course if there are fewer than 6 delegates for an online event or fewer than 10 for an in-person event. If we must cancel, we will notify delegates 5 working days for virtual and 10 working days for in person courses, before the scheduled start date. A member of the Virtual School team will contact delegates who have signed up to discuss alternative dates or CPD options
