A basic understanding of emotion, emotional responses and interpersonal dynamics at work are essential attributes for coaching professionals; this session will explore that notion and, through a balanced programme of presentations, experiential learning and discussions in small groups, provide an overview of:
- The interlink between emotion, thought and action
- The relationship between emotional and mental health, as well as the significance for coaches of stress-related illness in organisations
- Emotional Intelligence – understanding and developing emotional intelligence, both for the coach and client, to enable them to work most effectively together
- Reference to leading practitioners in the world of neuropsychology and emotion focused coaching
Our April event will be facilitated by Judy James, who is a professional Coach-Therapist and Executive Coach dedicated to creating lasting change by helping people to make sense of emotion and the part it plays in inhibiting growth, productivity and performance.
She has more than 20 years experience working in leadership, management and consultancy roles within the public sector including the Emergency Services, NHS Trust and the Home Office, as well as commercial experience in the communications and hospitality industries. Judy first started to provide coaching more than 15 years ago to enhance the range of personal and professional development initiatives she could offer as a specialist training consultant.
An EMCC member, Judy is also a member of the Coaching Division of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and alumni of the Academy of Executive Coaching.
