How can good governance transform systems of oppression and inequality?

What are the governance pitfalls that maintain systems of oppression and inequality and how can we address them?

How can we develop and sustain approaches to governance that work with power in a healthy way?

What spaces and support do we need on this journey?

The session hosts are a group of practitioners passionate about the transformative potential of innovative governance, including the contribution good governance can make to disrupting systems of oppression. We are being supported by Lankelly Chase to test the need and scope for a resourced community of practice to undertake an ongoing, collaborative inquiry into this important topic. We are organising a short series of activities in June as a way of inviting new ideas, perspectives and potential collaborators into the conversation.

Perhaps you are part of an organisation, network or collaboration working to challenge systems of oppression and want to explore how good governance can make power more visible and distributed and transform how we take decisions and collaborate across difference.

Our focus is on groups, organisations and collaborations seeking to support positive social change in the UK. We’re very open to sharing learning with those engaged in similar inquiries beyond the UK and we know that context can be important when thinking about governance.
