About the Trainer

Orly Koppel is a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor, Supervisor and Trainer. She has over 20 years of experience and has been working in private practice in Glasgow since 2006. www.orlykoppel.com

Her original training was in Person Centred Counselling (Strathclyde 1999) and she has been working as a supervisor since 2007.

Although she is neurotypical herself, Orly has developed a special interest in working with neurodivergent clients over the last ten years or so but now realises she was working with these clients all along! She has strong links with Scottish Autism, the National Autistic Society, Autistic not Weird, SWAN, Different Together and other organisations. She is currently mentoring/supervising a number of autistic counsellors, some of whom are involved in research in this area. Orly is passionate about her work and welcomes all feedback.

Orly is also an aspiring writer, her first book “Roads without Shoulders, Journeys in Therapy” was published in 2021. It is a series of vignettes about some of her clients over the years, many of them are neurodivergent. Copies are available from the author!
