Universities have a wealth of expertise that could help your business to solve problems, innovate and grow. We know that it can sometimes be difficult to work out who to talk to within such big organisations and how to make the most of this expertise.
Newcastle University, Newcastle Science City, the Technology Strategy Board and Enterprise Europe Network are working together to overcome this problem. We want to make it as easy as possible for companies to engage with academic groups, in ways that benefit both the company and the university. This could be through:
· Research carried out by the university on your behalf;
· Joint projects to solve challenging issues;
· Access to technology developed within the university;
· Student projects, working to solve a company issue.
The TSB, Research Councils and European Commission are keen to support this kind of interaction and can subsidise (or, in some cases, fully fund) the work. This means that your company gets access to cutting edge research at reduced cost.
On 22nd May, we are hosting an open event at St James Park to highlight the ways in which you can access university expertise and the funding options available. Speakers includeexperts from:
· Newcastle University
· Technology Strategy Board
· Research Councils UK
· Newcastle BioMedicine
· Newcastle Science City
· Enterprise Europe Network
There will also be the opportunity to network with university academics, funding experts and other innovative businesses.
