Birmingham Dance Network is an artist-led support network for independent dance artists, choreographers and teachers who live and work in and around the UK’s second city.

‘What You Need To Know’ is a programme of free workshops prioritising early career dancers and those looking to establish a career in Dance.

YARD Art House

-Led by producer Mark Mallabone, this workshop you will learn about the differing roles of a producer, how to engage, collaborate and work effectively so that you can get the most out of the working relationship.-Mark has been an independent creative producer for over seven years, and over that time has worked with Sweetshop Revolution, Mercurial Dance, Tanztheater Adrian Look, Georgia Tegou and a number of other independent dance and theatre artists.-We hope that attendees leave the workshop with a more informed understanding about how producers can help them move their work, practice and/or professional development forward whilst feeling more empowered to talk to and engage producers.-What You Need to Know is a programme of 8 FREE workshops, all designed to help you gain the skills needed to establish yourself as a freelance dance artist. That&#x27;s 35 HOURS of free training in different aspects of the sector that can help you develop your practice.
