Event description
Workshop exploring the long-term impact of child sexual abuse on adult survivors, both physically and psychologically.

About this Event

Course Outline: The workshop will explore the long-term impact of child sexual abuse (CSA) on adult survivors, both physically and psychologically. It continues by exploring how counsellors can enhance their practice for this client group by examining the healing process. This includes:

  • The ways in which survivors cope.
  • Identifying the stages from beginning the healing process to moving on.
  • Difficulties faced, such as relationships, intimacy and sex.
  • Exploring our own perceptions, attitudes and beliefs around CSA.

Case studies will be used to explore all these themes.
