WORKING WITH THE BODY IN COACHING with ABOODI SHABI
Masterclass outline
We might think of coaching as a talking profession – the client talks about an issue, and the coach listens and asks questions.
But we are not disembodied voices – there is a body doing the talking, and a body doing the listening and asking. And, outside the coaching session, the client’s body (in addition to their words) affects how they show up in life and the impact they make.
In this highly interactive session, we will look at how to work with the body in coaching, using a variety of exercises and approaches to allow you to experience working in this way.
Masterclass aims
By the end of this session, you will come away with:
· Greater understanding of the importance of the body (yours and your clients) in coaching;
· Practices to help you build your own somatic range;
· Greater confidence in working with the body with your clients – including how to speak about somatic coaching with corporates.
Masterclass content
We’ll explore how we as coaches can work with our awareness of our own body, how to work with the coach’s awareness of their own body.
We’ll also look at how to bring client’s awareness to their body, what it reveals and has to say, so that we can support them in exploring and understanding their coaching issues more deeply.
We will also explore how to use archetypes to increase your awareness of how to build range for yourself and your clients, and how to develop somatic practices to increase your effectiveness.
