Join us in learning how to use a selection of bushcraft tools such as knives, billhooks, and bow saws at Woodland Wellbeing HQ. This in-person event will take place on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, from 9:30 AM to midday
We will share our knowledge of how to use tools to create mallets, tent pegs, and simple cooking utensils and get creative with a bushcraft knife. We will learn how to
- source and select appropriate materials
- Use tools safely while out in the woods
- what tools are best for which jobs
- trouble-shooting
- tool maintenance
- create useful tools for camp
This workshop is perfect for beginners or for anyone wanting to brush up on their skills and knowledge of tools
There will also be time to gather and share ideas and enjoy a warm drink heated on one of our fires and some delicious cake.
All you need to bring is yourself and dress for the weather.
- In the event of heavy rain or strong winds, the event may be rescheduled and/or refunds offered. In the event of lighter rain, the area will be covered with shelters.
- Welfare facilities are available in the house.
- Accessibility - the woodland garden is set in a small valley down steep steps so no wheelchair access is available,, unfortunately. We would like to run similar sessions in other areas of Sheffield, so if you would like to join but need good access, please do let us know so we can contact you for future sessions.
- There is plenty of roadside parking, and the space is a 5-minute walk from the number 20 and 18 bus stops. There is also a place to secure bikes.
