This CPD accredited course will provide a unique and specialist knowledge for those who are working with women involved in sex work. It will include training on the different areas of legislation surrounding sex work, routes into sex work, good practice principles and provisions for supporting those involved. This course is designed specifically for practitioners working with women who are or may be sex working. The course is co-delivered by a specialist frontline practitioner with substantial experience of working directly with sex workers, as well as an in-depth understanding of policy and national context.
This course covers:
• The varied sectors of and routes into sex work
• Challenging myths and prejudices that sex workers face
• Laws governing sex work including different legal models
• Sex workers’ experiences with safety, crime & violence
• Support needs & barriers for sex workers in accessing mainstream services
• Ways to make your service sex-worker friendly and inclusive
• Best practice principles & approaches for working with sex workers
This course will run from 10am-3:30pm and will be held online. Links, alongside course material, for the training will be shared with delegates in advance of the training.
