Overview
About this event:
This collaborative event presents a unique opportunity to engage with the recently published National Youth Strategy recognising its commitments around workforce development and, building on best practice and research, to strengthen the case for investing in youth work training.By bringing together practitioners, academics, young people, policymakers, educators, funders, and collaborators, this event aims to:
- Look at how the National Youth Strategy might support workforce development in London
- Explore qualification and progression pathways that align with national and local priorities
- Examine funding opportunities, challenges, and how to make a compelling case for investment in youth work training
- Centre young people’s expectations and ensure their voices drive workforce strategy
- Identify actionable steps to strengthen and expand the workforce, empowering it to meet the evolving needs of young people in London
Through discussion, workshops, and examples of good practice, participants will have the chance to collaboratively shape the future of the youth sector, ensuring the workforce is well-equipped to meet the challenges ahead.
This event is hosted at The Source, a partnership between the London Borough of Newham's Youth Empowerment Service and the University of East London, with the support of the Partnership for Young London, the Pan London Leads Network, and London Youth.
