Works in Progress: An Improv Jam

By School of Arts, English and Languages

Overview

This jam, focused on creativity, confidence and cooperation, is open to anyone interested in making things up

Improv is the art of spontaneously performing comedy and theatre without a script. Works in Progress was conceived as an antidote to writer’s block, a space in which anyone can have fun making up characters, scenes and stories in an encouraging environment.

This session runs in the Wolfson Lecture Theatre at the Seamus Heaney Centre from 5.30-7.30pm. It's a mixture of warmups, short form games (think Whose Line Is It Anyway) and long form montage performances. No performance experience is required, and there is no pressure to perform; you are welcome just to watch.
