Workshop 3: Explorations in nature
Come join us for the third workshop out of four. This one delves into queerness and engaging with natural environments through being in Plymouth's natural landscapes. Get to be outside wander around and create some illustrative responses to what you find there.
When you hear discussions of climate change, it is often negative, often about scientific ideas, and rarely from an LGBT+ standpoint. I want to address this by giving you a space to think about how your LGBT+ identity alters (or not) how you engage with climate discussions, through illustration.
For those of you who were at the first two workshops, I hope you will be able to attend the third in the series, this will be looking at rather than talking about nature and the environment, but to actually be within it.
Missed the first two workshops? No problem
If you missed the first two workshops, no problem you can still join in. One thing to be aware of is that this workshop is a part of my PhD study and as such in order to take part you need to give your consent to take part in the study alongside needing to:
- Live in Plymouth
- Be over 18
- Identify as LGBT+
If this is you, then I would love you to take part. This workshop is a part of a series of four, and while not a requirement it would be fab if you are able to hold the space and attend all four of the workshops if possible. They will be fun I promise!
The dates for the diary are:
Workshop 3: Explorations in nature
Saturday 24th May 10am-4pm Mount Batten
Workshop 4: Queering climate conversations
Thursday 5th June 6.30-8.30pm The Talk Shop, Stonehouse
Once you sign up a consent form will be sent to you and this needs to returned before you can take part in the event.
All of the workshops are free to attend and there is some support available to cover costs such as travelling to the event if this is a barrier to participation.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

These workshops are made possible with support from Queer District Collective (QDC) who you can find out more about here.
