Africanistic Movement - An introductory class to common dance techniques found in dance of African heritage
The workshop will touch on dance movements from both The Caribbean and Africa. The workshop is taught multilevel, so no experience is necessary. Please wear usual wear for a dance class but no footwear is required.
Suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Caroline Muraldo BA (Hons) MA is an experienced professional dancer, choreographer, dance teacher for all ages and levels, dance event organiser, seamstress and costume designer also having worked as a singer and actress. She has worked with most of the renowned British based exponents of African and African-Caribbean dance forms and has performed and taught internationally. Caroline is the artistic director of the award-winning Christian dance company Muraldo D.C, formed in 1999. The company performs traditional and contemporary dances from both Africa and the Caribbean in addition to a wide range of dance pieces based on biblical truths and is known for their specialism promotion of traditional Caribbean dance.
She has a small business selling a wide range of her own handmade items, including jewellery, clothing and household goods, (Muraldo Design Central) also with a carnival band ( Muraldo Dingolay Crew) for which she makes costume and choreographs.
