Workshop: Approaching Degree Awarding Powers

This workshop will explore what Degree-Awarding Powers (DAP) mean, and ways of approaching preparations for DAP application and scrutiny. In addition to two keynote presentations, there will be opportunities for participants to exchange views and ideas about the types of preparation which might be necessary for their institutions, together with practical tips for the application and scrutiny stages.

About the trainer:
Between 2001 and 2014 Keith was Deputy Principal and latterly Pro-Vice Chancellor at Norwich University of the Arts. Between 2005 and 2008 he co-ordinated the institution’s application and scrutiny for Taught Degree-Awarding Powers. Following this he co-ordinated the development of the next two strategic plans and oversaw the full embedding of the supporting regulatory framework for TDAP at Norwich. Since 2014 Keith has led a successful higher education consultancy, whose current portfolio involves advice and support on strategy, quality, and organisational development with a number of universities and alternative providers.
