About this event

Arts • Theatre

Led by Suzy Willson, Artistic Director of Clod Ensemble, Lotte Allan, Clod Ensemble Archivist, and Valerie Ebuwa, Independent Artist & Clod Ensemble Associate.

In this workshop Clod Ensemble will present their recent experience of creating an archive which gathers and shares their distinctive interdisciplinary approach to devising performance. The session approaches archiving as a creative and curatorial act, exploring sustainable systems for organising and re-presenting physical and digital materials.

Attendees will be encouraged to take a creative approach to archiving their own artistic practice, as well as using other archives and collections to inspire new work.

This workshop is an ideal learning opportunity for independent artists, performing arts specialists and small-/medium-sized arts organisations, across all artforms. It will include both discussion and some movement work.

This event accompanies Clod Ensemble: How it Moves - an exhibition revealing the many textures of three decades of performance-making.
