About this event
Presented in partnership with Articulate as part of the Day of Compassion for Brighton & Hove.
Together in this small workshop every child and their guardian will create a unique and precious nest, made from natural materials, to keep and treasure. This session is led by experienced artist facilitator, Jenny Staff.
The workshop will work with clay so we suggest wearing suitable clothes or bringing an overshirt or apron to wear over your clothes.
This workshop will not focus on loss or the details of one's bereavement, but will recognise that this is the broader reason we are gathering and creating a moment of remembrance.
Brighton & Hove’s Day of Compassion is celebrating the people and services that have sustained us during this sad time. Citywide events include a place for reflection and a Service of Compassion. The Day of Compassion is run by the Chaplain to the Mayor – The Interfaith Contact Group of Brighton & Hove, which serves people of all faiths and none in our city.
Nestled within Brighton’s historic lanes, Fabrica is a space where everyone can experience art. Through immersive exhibitions and commissions, film screenings, talks, group discussions and community led events. And through our workshops we welcome everyone to enjoy art, make connections and be creative.
Articulate’s mission is to facilitate collaborative, creative and therapeutically grounded experiences that allow children to be children, embracing artistic playfulness as a method of self-expression without agenda or expectation.
