This event is for online facilitators and those who wish to become online facilitators.
The workshop will be set in the context of the Online Communities for Educators environment, however participants who have experience or who are involved in other online collaborative initiatives are also welcome. It will take place at the Luton Campus of the University of Bedfordshire from 10.00am to 3.30pm.
Who should attend?
This training session is aimed at those who are new to community facilitation, those who might like to set up an online community and those who are named as facilitators (or are soon to become so).
What will the day be about?
The day will begin with an introduction to the key concepts associated with online collaborative software and go on to cover areas such as different types of community, how to get the most from the online tools, understanding the needs of your participants as well as the complexities of facilitating online learning environments. It will be hosted by the University of Bedfordshire and run by Sarah Jones of Core Education.

Sarah Jones, Core Education UK
Sarah has expertise at both developmental and project leadership levels
in the variety of uses that online learning communities have in
enhancing educational opportunities in different contexts, particularly
in adult education and the health arena, much of which she gained
whilst working at Ultralab ~ world leaders in the application of
technological innovations in e-learning. She is co Director of Core
Education UK Ltd ~ a not for profit educational research and
development organization, which improves educational opportunities
through the application of innovative uses of emerging technologies.
