No previous experience needed; all levels, all bodies, and all backgrounds are welcome. The workshop will be held in English and is open to FLINTA* individuals. We aim to create an inclusive space for older adults and people with limited mobility: the Gyrokinesis® part is primarily chair-based, and the Musical Dance Workout can be easily adapted for seated participation.
The two methods will flow into one another: we’ll start with a grounding and mobilising Gyrokinesis® session, and then build up to a fun musical dance workout that will leave you feeling like a Broadway star.
What we will do:
GYROKINESIS® is a movement method that gently works the whole body through flowing, rhythmic exercises combined with breathing and mental focus. It draws elements from yoga, tai chi, dance, and swimming.The exercises are usually done on a chair and/or a mat with no equipment and are designed to improve mobility, coordination, and strength in a gentle way. This method is suitable for a wide range of people, from those looking for gentle, therapeutic movement to dancers and athletes who want to increase flexibility and performance.
Musical Mix Dance Workout is an energetic dance workout where you have the opportunity to feel like a Broadway star for 75 minutes. It is a mix of different dance styles and a group fitness workout choreographed and designed by Mathilda Kleo in 2021. You don't need any previous experience to participate, only comfortable shoes, water and a desire to join in.It's showtime! Let's Musical Dance Together!
