DOORS OPEN, 18:00. WORKSHOP START, 18:30.

Drawing from his own colourful practice and the colour theory books that have deeply influenced him, such as I Send You This Cadmium Red by John Berger, Jan Urant invites attendees to experiment with dry pigments, creating their own paints and personalised colour palettes.

Participants will experiment with a range of pigments, testing colour blends and viscosities on different types of paper and canvas, building toward a final composition on wood. Throughout the session, Jan will share historical and contextual examples of colour in art and discuss how colour shapes perception and memory.

Playing with colour pairings and hierarchies, attendees will work to illustrate a strong personal memory, taking note of the colours used and why they chose them.
