About this event

Discover the art of bookbinding in this hands-on session, where you’ll create a series of beautifully handcrafted mini notebooks. You’ll explore paper grain direction, weight variations, and learn both stitch-free folding techniques as well as traditional sewn bindings. Perfect for beginners and creatives alike, this workshop delivers a mindful, tactile experience rooted in craft.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Kate Grimes originally trained as an artist and jeweller, and has been passionately bookbinding for over five years. What began as a method to record her jewellery processes during her MA at Middlesex University evolved into designing and making bespoke sketchbooks for family, friends, and clients. Her love of clean, simple design shines through in Kate Grimes Books: a refined collection of handcrafted notebooks, handmade paste‑paper covers, and bespoke boxes.

Kate has led workshops at Park Royal London Craft Week, the Park Royal London Design Festival, and Park Royal Open Workshop (POW), as well as various private events.
