The goal of the workshop is twofold: to provide an overview of the current challenges for improving logistics and transport operations; and to identify and share best practices in order to reduce environmental and financial costs.

 

The workshop will involve presentations from key players in the UK freight logistics and transport sector and a roundtable with experts from industry and academia.

Please Note: This workshop is open to eligible SMEs in the Greater Birmingham&Solihull LEP area ( Birmingham, Solihull, Wyre Forest, Bromsgrove, Redditch, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Tamworth,Cannock Chase)

 

SME Eligiblity: 

 

  • The company must employ less than 250 employees
  • Have an annual turnover of not exceeding €50 million and/or an annual balance sheet not exceeding €43million
  • Be based in Birmingham, Solihull, Wyre Forest, Bromsgrove, Redditch, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Tamworth,Cannock Chase.
  • Have received no more than €200,000 of de minimis State Aid in the past 3 years.

Aston University is delivering the Low Carbon SMEs project which seeks to assist small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Greater Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country to reduce their energy use and embark on a Low Carbon journey. Our Energy experts provide a holistic approach to energy efficiency based on your needs that will lead you to higher productivity and increased net profit. 

We provide

  • Opportunities to apply for capital grants of up to £12,250 (match funded)
  • Sign up to a FREE energy efficiency survey
  • Collaboration with specialists from Aston University
