Most businesses today are drowning in data and most businesses do not fully understand how they can master it and use it to discover a wide range of hidden insights. Data is the new business currency; Microsoft say that data will bring about the fourth industrial revolution. Up until about five years ago, it was the remit of the IT department to build the complex data models and reports needed by business managers. The business analytical landscape has all changed – new tools from Microsoft and others mean that you don’t need to be a data analyst or IT specialist to work with large data sets to create dynamic interactive dashboards.
The workshop will outline why we’re experiencing this data explosion and how non-technical personnel can take advantage of it. Using data to create business performance metrics is only one example of its use. HR specialists will be encouraged to become more familiar with the role of data analytics within a business framework so they can look for correlations between business and employee performance.
