More and more young people in Britain are becoming interested in politics, yet are being halted from getting involved by one simple problem… they don’t know how to.
Shout Out UK, UPF and RoadWorks Media will present and deliver a Free Thinking workshop, which is designed to help participants relate to their role in society. Looking at their background and how that can influence a political position.
We will be looking at how important it is to be able to understand a situation from multiple perspectives. Our workshop will aim to get you politically engaged by providing you with tools to empower the way you see yourself in society.
Keynote Speaker: Erica Buist, The Guardian Newspaper
Event proudly sponsored by Europe House and part of Parliament Week
RoadWorks Media is a community interest company that transforms young lives via hands on media training.
Working within the local community we seek to encourage self-expression and the belief that with enough hard work anything is possible. By involving young people in our projects and providing them with hands on training, we give them the power to gain experience, knowledge and confidence to build up their careers . Current projects include the creation of short films, the magazine, and a pod cast. We also run creative workshops that are open to participation.
Shout Out UK is an independent news network that, via journalism, film and events, aims to show young people that politics has a direct impact on everything you do in life, with the aim of lowering political apathy among the next generation.
Since our launch in July 2012, we have become one of Britain’s fastest growing alternative and independent news platforms, bolstering one of the largest network of young political, cultural and creative writers from all over the globe.
