P21 is organising a series of traditional Palestinian Dabke workshops in partnership with the renowned Fursaan Dabke troupe. Open to men and women aged 16 and over.
These workshops aim to preserve cultural heritage through dance, where culture, resistance, and community come alive. Founded in 2012, Fursaan Dabke is a celebrated all-male troupe dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich folklore of Palestine and the wider Bilad al-Sham region (encompassing Palestine, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon).
Participants will be offered an immersive experience to learn the art of Dabke—an enduring symbol of Palestinian heritage and unity. Learn traditional Dabke steps, rhythms, and folklore while connecting deeply with Palestinian culture.
Dabke is more than just a dance; it’s a form of resistance, storytelling, and cultural pride. Under the guidance of Fursaan Dabke’s skilled performers, participants will not only master the footwork but also engage with the history and meaning behind each movement. These workshops celebrate the vibrant traditions of Palestine and the Levant, fostering community and keeping heritage alive for future generations.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn from the best and carry forward the spirit of Dabke! Follow us for updates on registration and schedules.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: To be able to fund our vibrant exhibitions and events, we need to charge a fee to help cover part of the gallery running costs and overheads. With much of our public and private sponsorship axed, your gift enables us to continue staging thought-provoking art and cultural events.
