About this event

This free session will focus on names, as these are important entities within an archive description. It will :

  • Highlight current cataloguing practices
  • Give some practical tips for how to enter names, dates and additional information.
  • We will also give a brief update on our 'Names Project', which seeks to work with names to improve discovery and create more connections.
  • If there is time, we will look at some other examples of structure.

The session will use Zoom: you just need to click on the link that we provide and enter a password, and follow the prompts to download the correct Zoom desktop client for your computer. You may like to do this beforehand to make sure you are all ready. See: https://zoom.us/download.

This will be a session of not more than 1.5 hours.

Priority will be given to Archives Hub contributors and potential contributors (contributions to the Archives Hub are welcomed from institutions in all UK sectors who hold collections of value to education and research: https://archiveshub.jisc.ac.uk/becomingacontributor/).

Please email us if you have any questions at: contributors.hub@jisc.ac.uk
