This September, Melanie Thompson and Safiya Juma are trialling a new workshop format: Walking Through the Senses – a creative circumambulation of Glastonbury tor.
Circumambulation is the act of walking or moving around a sacred object or place, often as a form of ritual or religious practice.
As we walk full circle around the base of the tor, we will stop at specific sites to engage our senses and respond creatively to the magic in this ancient land.
Seeing
Touching
Tasting
Listening
Smelling
Sensing
We will write, draw and move with the landscape and each other.
The workshop offers space to connect with ourselves, a small group of others and nature. Space to listen to the land, tune into our senses and let our bodies and creativity lead.
As summer begins to give way to autumn, join us for this meditative, walking prayer – a chance to set intentions and complete a circle of protection to hold us through the darker half of the year.
8 spaces only to encourage reflection and quiet contemplation.
