Event description

Description

This workshop will highlight a range of woodland priorities within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park and explore the different types and scale of woodland management and creation that can be implemented on farms anywhere within Scotland.

Please come ready to discuss what woodland management and creation you may already be doing on your farm, what else you may be interested in doing and what might be constraining you from doing more woodland management and creation on your farm.

The workshop is particularly relevant to farmers and their advisors and will involve specialists from Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, SRUC's Hill & Mountain Research Centre, the Farm Advisory Service and Woodland Trust Scotland discussing and sharing their experiences with workshop attendees. The workshop will also incorporate a visit to SRUC’s Kirkton & Auchtertyre Farms to see and discuss some of the woodland management and creation measures that have been implemented on the farms.

Organisation of this event was supported by Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, the Scottish Government's RESAS 2016-21 Strategic Research Programme, Woodland Trust Scotland and Scotland's Farm Advisory Service (FAS) which is part of the Scottish Rural Development Programme (SRDP) co-funded by the EU and Scottish Government.

A complimentary lunch will be provided so booking in advance is essential. Please indicate any particular dietary requirements on the system at the time or booking tickets or by email to jenna.kyle@sruc.ac.uk
