This is a five week workshop that takes place every Saturday between 3 September – 1 October, 2–5pm. Free. 15 places.
Work with artist Hannah Ayre over five weeks to make handmade ceramic sculptures using a variety of techniques and ideas generated by the exhibition and local landscape. The project leads to a spectacular public outdoor event co-produced by the artist and participants where you’ll fire your sculptures in an outdoor kiln.
Fresh Fruit is a group of young people aged 16–25 who work together and with artists to explore new ideas and make and share artwork. Join, and using The Fruitmarket Gallery’s exhibitions as a starting point, you’ll be supported to shape the direction and content of projects by working with artists and peers in a unique gallery space.
Workshops on the 3, 10, 17 September and the 1 October event take place at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, 21 Hawthornvale, Edinburgh, EH6 4JT. The 24 September workshop takes place at The Fruitmarket Gallery, 45 Market Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1DF.
Sessions are social, informal and free. We can support your travel costs from Edinburgh and the Lothians. Snacks and refreshments are provided. No previous art experience necessary. freshfruit.org.uk
