Event description

Description

The Eyes Open Steering Group will be screening a series of films across the North East in the build up to World AIDS Day 2017, our aim is to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and challenge the stigma and discrimination people living with HIV experience.

The Newcastle Event will show the highly acclaimed 'The Normal Heart' starring Mark Ruffalo and Julia Roberts. The Normal Heart is not only a powerful, heart-breaking drama, but also a vital document of events leading up to and through the early AIDS crisis’ in New York.

After the film showing the audience will have an opportunity to engage in a discussion and direct questions to our panel of experts including HIV Consultants, HIV Charities, Eyes Open Steering Group Members and people who are living with HIV.

The Normal Heart is rated 15
