With over 3,000 delegates travelling from across the world, and 500 British businesses in attendance, the WCEC is the biggest visit of Chinese entrepreneurs and investors the UK has ever seen. Join us for three days of events encompassing a dynamic showcase of the best of British and Chinese business, high profile keynote speakers, cultural performances and curated content.

Monday 21 October

  • Chinese Culture Showcase and Fashion Show, 4:00pm – 6:00pm, Capital Suite 7-9: Weaving dreams, spinning wonders: a showcase of the rich tapestry of Chinese culture from one of the world’s leading fashion designers, Xia Hua from Eve Fashion Group, who has worked with the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Kenzo and Versace.
  • Gala Dinner, 5:00pm - 21:30pm, Level 1 Banqueting Hall: The dinner will be attended by the Chinese Ambassador as well as over 3000 British and Chinese business leaders. It promises to be a brilliant evening with cultural performances from both Britain and China, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Tuesday 22 October

  • Registration opens 9:00am
  • Opening Ceremony, 10:30am – 12:45pm, Auditorium: The WCEC will commence with the Opening Ceremony on the morning of Tuesday 22nd October, and will feature addresses by both Chinese and British dignitaries, as well as keynote speeches and cultural performances.
  • Forums - 14:00pm-15:30pm:
    • The Belt and Road Initiative, the Commonwealth, and the global opportunity for collaboration, Auditorium
    • Looking back over the last century, looking forward to Chinese culture and global engagement, Capital Suite 14-16
    • Industrial Revolution 4.0 – Chinese Technology and Innovation and in the 21st Century, Capital Suite 7-9
    • Leadership of Chinese business globally – Contribution and Legacy, Capital Suite, Capital Suite 10-12
  • Forums – 16:00pm – 17:30pm:
    • Investing into the UK, looking towards Europe, Auditorium
    • Women as global leaders, and development trends in business, Capital Suite 14-16
    • Education cooperation and global perspectives, Capital Suite 7-9
    • Big health: opportunities in Biotech and traditional Chinese medicine, Capital Suite 10-12
  • Exhibition, 10:05am - 5:00pm: The Exhibition features an exciting line up of British and Chinese business including Aston Martin and Heathrow VIP
  • Pitch@Palace, Exhibition Hall: Entrepreneurs will be pitching their businesses at the Innovation Hub, within the Exhibition from 12:00pm-2:00pm, followed by a chance to meet the companies
  • Lewis Silkin, 3:00pm-4:30pm, Exhibition Hall: Investing in the UK in the age of innovation and disruption – key considerations for establishing, enhancing and protecting your most important assets – your people, property and IP
  • Buffet Dinner, 6:00pm-9:30pm, ABP: Hosted by ABP, Royal Albert Dock. Guests will be provided with transport to and from the ExCel

Wednesday 23 October

  • Chinese Business Showcase 2:00pm – 4:30pm, ExCel Centre, South Gallery Room 20-23
  • Closing Ceremony, 5:00pm – 8:30pm, Level 1 Banqueting Hall: Please join us for an evening of cultural performances and keynotes as the 15th biennial WCEC comes to a close. We reflect on partnerships forged, look to the future, and hear from the WCEC host city.
