World Climate Summit 2016 "Building on the Global Deal"
Sun 13 November 2016, 08:00 – 18:00 WET
The World Climate Summit has been one of the leading business event at the COP since 2010. As a premier international platform for solutions to climate change and accelerating the green economy, each year the World Climate Summit brings together leading representative from governments, finance, and large corporations to create green growth, and foster innovation and solutions for a low-carbon and resource efficient world.
This year, the World Climate Summit aims to offer a collaborative platform for business, finance, and governments to stimulate urgent climate action following the Paris Agreement. It will mobilise the top leaders, showcase the best innovative solutions for a sustainable future, and provide momentum to the Climate Action Agenda – the multi-stakeholder approach - which is now an integral part of the COP process.
The World Climate Summit 2016 is organised by World Climate Ltd, the global climate stakeholder platform, in lead partnership with the Morocco Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment.
In addition, through close collaboration with the UN International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the World Climate Summit 2016 will be a key event under the 'Re-Energising the Future' initiative, by providing a dedicated stream through the programme with a focus on renewable energy as a solution to climate change.
