About this Event

Come join us as we celebrate the first ever World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (https://worldengineeringday.net/) on Wednesday 4th March 2020. Engineers are instrumental to tackling the Global Challenges of today and the future, and putting humankind on a more sustainable course. Whether you are an engineer or from a different discipline, you can play a key role in making this happen!

This event will be joint hosted by the University of Strathclyde, Weir Group and Engineers Without Borders UK, and is open to all students at the University of Strathclyde who are interested in sustainable development challenges, or simply finding out more about what sustainable development really means. The event will showcase the range of growing opportunities at Strathclyde, including summer internships, options to tackle sustainable development as part of your undergraduate or postgraduate study, and ways to get involved in student-led initiatives on campus and overseas. In addition, Weir Group will share how they are making sustainable development their business, and Engineers Without Borders will show how they are supporting the students of today to be sustainable development leaders of tomorrow. The event will kick off with a free lunch, and will close with opportunity to have your say in prioritising action.
