Description

Join our local guide David of the Llangollen Museum guide book writer and local historian.

We meet and Sign-in at 9.30 at the Court Yard Café off Castle Street where you can enjoy a tea, coffee and snacks before the off.

Start at 10.00am:

ur moderate 8 mile walk takes us along the Dee Valley using part of the Community Miles Paths and the Offa's Dyke Path through Trevor Woods.
There are a few climbs on the outward route to the world famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct built by Thomas Telford - 1,007ft long and 127ft high above the fast flowing River Dee.
We'll visit the Information Centre and Trevor Canal Basin where there is tea / coffee and toilets available
.
The way back is easy, we follow the tow path back to Llangollen Wharf where you'll see the horse drawn canal boats... there's a café too.
Do bring snacks for the walk or -
