World in a Tent Festival Folkestone

A day of multicultural events, world music, dance, world food, world bazaar, a Tai-Chi session, workshops and arts/crafts activities for kids and a contemporary band +dj to end the day.
A free festival celebrating different cultures with world music, dance, food and arts/crafts activities. Featuring Tsungai Tsikirai from Zimbabwe with her traditional and urban mix of styles, Damascus Ensemble with members from the Orchestra of Syrian musicians playing traditional Syrian instruments - oud and qanun with voice, Folkestone Nepalese musicians and dancers performing traditional dances and music from different groups, and Romany Diamonds with vocalist Sindy Marek, guitarist Benjamin Czureja and violinist Roberto Marek performing popular Roma and East European songs. Also featured are Ash Mukherjee – an award winning Critic’s Circle nominated Indian dancer who will perform a piece dedicated to Ukraine, Sinman Dance Company (Chinese/London) performing traditional Chinese music and dance, traditional Odissi dancing from India, Tai-Chi, Belly dancing, and Bollywood dance workshops, ending with a Nepalese contemporary pop band and dj (Kent). Less plastics Policy - We are keen to reduce the use of plastics in festivals and you can help by bringing your own water flasks and cups. There will be a bar on site and wine, beer, cans of soft drinks, teas, coffees and food will be available to purchase.
