This is an adult event but please contact the organiser if you wish to bring a young person with you.

Is this a physically active event?

Yes. Laughing requires a lot of energy. Attendees are advised to go at their own pace and sit out if and when they feel tired. Chairs are provided and there are frequent breathing exercises which offer a break from laughing.

What should I wear?

Any loose comfortable clothing is suitable.

What is a laughter session like?

Accepted Answer

The answer is - probably like nothing you've ever experienced before! Most people find it fun, exhilarating, and freeing although some feel a little self-conscious at first but this usually only lasts a short time.

How is laughter induced?

To begin with, we use simple laughter exercises that last for a few seconds. The infectious, contagious nature of laughter means that you will find yourself experiencing spontaneous laughter as well.

What if I can't do it?

Laughter is an innate behavior, children laugh long before they can talk. They don't need jokes or comedy to laugh, they laugh because it feels wonderful and you can too.

Prolonged laughter boosts immunity, reduces stress hormones, provides pain relief, and improves cardiac health and circulation.

What are the emotional benefits of laughter?

Accepted Answer

Prolonged laughter enhances mood, reduces depression and anxiety, relieves stress, and increases resilience.

Is this activity suitable for everyone?

This activity is usually suitable for everyone. However, please contact the organizer if you have any concerns. Please seek medical advice if you suffer from respiratory or heart conditions. If you suffer from urinary stress incontinence you may want to wear some protection.

NO. This is a fully interactive workshop. In order to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable only participants are allowed.
