Event description

Description

The evening’s programme includes - a “Silent Art Auction” a 30 piece Art Exhibition with works done by talented people who are either recovered, or are in recovery with Mental Health illness.

In addition, there will also be live music, poetry and personal testimonies written by people with lived experience and two very short Mental Health films, one which includes a much-loved royal and much more.

Special guests include the Mayor, Cllr David Hopkins, and his wife Suzanne, the previous Mayor Steve Coventry and his wife, MK Dons Sport and Education Trust (SET) and others.

It is hoped that the evening will be enjoyable, yet thought-provoking and guests will be invited to write a few words on how they feel about Mental Health and pin it to an “Inspirational tree”, and, at the end of the evening, pen their Memory of the evening on the “Memory Tree”; both trees kindly donated by the Parks Trust.

World Mental Health Day is recognised every year to raise awareness of Mental Health issues around the world. This year’s theme focuses on Mental Health in the work place and the continued challenge to eradicate the “Stigma” that surrounds all Mental Health Illness.

Entry to the event is FREE however booking is essential. Refreshments are available for £1.
