Event description

Description

This conference is aimed at anyone who is interested in world mission and in what we can learn in regards both to discipleship and evangelism as we seek to fulfil our Growing in God vision. As Christians we have to respond to global events that affect all of us. Big questions are raised which require a Christian response. How can we be active in mitigating the effects of climate change? How can we influence new trade deals that are being negotiated post-Brexit, so that they are fair to all? How can we ensure fairer tax regimes so that countries have the money to develop their public services and their infrastructures? How can we effectively spread the good news of the gospels in other countries as well as at home? How can we learn from many countries where there is numerical growth in churches as well as from those areas where the church is persecuted?

Our keynote speaker will be Janice Price, World Mission Adviser to the Archbishop's Council and other speakers will talk about the challenges of climate change, our link diocese of Kagera, the world on our doorstep, and Fairtrade. There will be a variety of workshops looking at other aspects of mission as well as opportunities to share world mission links and experiences with others. Amongst the organisations attending will be Christian Aid, Global Hope, CMS, USPG and SIM.

Cost: £5 a head. Please bring your own packed lunch. Open to all. If you would like more information then please email Richard Stainer. if you are a licensed minister (clergy, Reader, LLM or Elder) and would like to use your CMD grant, please click the CMD ticket when you register.
