This year our World Philosophy Day event will be held in the heart of the community in which we began and where we have set up our new office: Forest Hill.
The library was due to close in September and so The Philosophy Foundation worked with a local group comprising: V22 the Artists Collaborative, Forest Hill Society and Forest Hill Traders Association in order to save the library and keep it part of our community. We successfully won the bid to take over the library and we will be based there from October.
For World Philosophy Day this year we will be holding a free public event in the library and on the high street.
There are two events at the libary on November 17th, and a Philosophy Trail for you to follow in the weeks leading up to it. You can find out more about the trail, and download the question sheet on our website: World Philosophy Day.
In the meantime book here for the family event from 4pm-6pm at the library and the adult event from 7pm-9pm also at the library.
In both events we will be exploring the notion of community, using questions raised by local school children in the run up to World Philosophy Day.
