Overview

Join us 1.1km underground on a poetry journey to discover the exciting science happening at the lab, and learn more about writing poetry!

How can we look for life on other planets, explore strange planetary surfaces and test robots for space by going deep below the Earth’s surface?

In this poetry workshop suitable for primary school children (KS2), you will join the team to hear some poems about the amazing science that takes place at the Boulby Underground Laboratory, 1.1km below ground. Come along and hear perhaps the deepest verses on the planet and learn something new about the world around you!

The session will contain poetry readings, time for questions and answers, and we will launch our poetry project inviting classes to write and send in their own poems.

The session is suitable for children in primary school and will last for around 60 minutes. It will take place via Zoom - we will send details of how to join to all those who register.
