World Prematurity Charity Ball
Event Information
About this Event
As a testament to the amazing doctors and nurses and their dedication to poorly and premature babies, the Bolton Neonatal Unit Charity Ball hopes to build awareness around World Prematurity Day.
This year we have decided to donate to two amazing charities. We want to continue our support directly to The Royal Bolton Hospitals NICU and this year we want to also donate 50% of all monies raised to Ronald McDonald House.
In July 2019, I became a proud Nanny to the most beautiful twins, Ava and Archie. They were in a hurry to meet us as they were born 3 months early.
Being born so early, came with its heart-breaking complications. Between them, they needed numerous blood transfusions, continuous oxygen, lifesaving operations and around the clock care.
While Ava and Archie were on the Neonatal Unit, I realised the unit needs help with providing essential equipment to help all parents, including those who aren’t as lucky as we are. The unit needs more parent rooms allowing parents to live in the hospital to be near to their babies. Also, cooling cuddle cots. The cots regulate stillborn baby body temperatures to allow grieving parents more time with their babies.
Also at 7 weeks old Archie was transferred to St Mary’s Children’s Hospital where he underwent life saving surgery. Ronald McDonald House Manchester provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with children receiving treatment in the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and St Mary’s Neonatal Unit. Families travel to Manchester from across the North West, the UK and even internationally, so that their children can receive specialist treatment at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
So come and join us for a night to remember, with a 3 course meal, drinks on arrival, live music and entertainment. We’d love to see you there 🤍🤍
