Get creative and join us at The Common Room on Saturday 9th October to celebrate World Space Week with our Pop-up Mars Workshop with Helen Schell, visual artist and ESERO-UK Space Ambassador!
Your Mars Mission - Imagine you can go to Mars! Humans dream of visiting and living on Mars. What would it be like to go there and what would you need to design and make? Imagine you are an astronaut on Mars. You will need to a rocket, robot, Mars rover, Martian house with garden & laboratory, spacesuit, flag & mission badge for your Mars adventures. What technology will you need? Could you be a space engineer, rocket scientist, astronaut or artist? Use pop-up techniques to create a rocking robot or rover out of card or even, an entire Mars settlement. There will be some examples of advanced manufacturing technology (3d printed materials) on show. These techniques are likely to be used for future space exploration and settlements, with the new ‘Make don’t Take’ space agency programme.
