To celebrate World Space Week, we are excited to be holding another virtual event with the STFC Boulby Underground Laboratory, who will talk to us live from 1.1 km underground!
You can join us for the live link where the team from Boulby will talk about the incredible work that happens 1.1 km beneath the surface, and how this can be used to help answer questions about living in space! We will also find out how they use the special and unique environment of the mine and the lab, to learn more about how we might, one day, be able to live in space - as well as a whole range of exciting science - from researching renewable energy storage to exploring other planets, and hunting for the mysterious dark matter!
This online event will take place via zoom webinar. This event will start at 11:00 on Friday 10 October and will run until approximately 12:00. Attendees will not be visible or audible, but will be able to ask questions via the text-based Q&A and chat functions. This event is suitable for children aged 9-11, and is particularly aimed at students in Key Stage 2.
One ticket is required for each device that will be used to watch the event.
