Event description

Description

Inspired by the Museum's current exhibition of WW2 photography, SPLATT Theatre invites you to travel back in time to a 1940’s ‘holding accommodation’. You and your child will experience the day in the life of a wartime refugee/evacuee family.

The performance involves…

Being met and registered by billeting officers who will immerse you in the life of a WW2 Refugee/Evacuee Family. Wartime memories with audience interaction. Ration-Book Cooking; here you will learn about food rationing during the war and help prepare a wartime recipe. The performance is led by professional actors, who remain in character throughout the experience, constantly incorporating elements of drama and fun to enhance the learning environment. This is a real-life adventure where you and your child will be immersed in the spirit of the 1940’s, experiencing stories and historical facts delivered through carefully designed theatre, original war-time audio extracts and wartime music.

To bring the experience to life even more, SPLATT Theatre highly recommend all attending wear 1940's style clothing.

£10 (plus Eventbrite fees)/per child.
