Awarded as one of the Most Cleanest Village in the World on 2016 by Boombastic Magazine and 2017 by Indonesia Sustainable Tourism Award in Cultural Sustainable Categories; Penglipuran is one hidden gems that has truly historical notes about how the previous Kingdom in Bali made it.
This village is one of the most amazing area with around 112 hectares and 40% of it covered by a Bamboo Forest. At the moment Penglipuran become one of the most valuable area for tourism in cultural categories to visit 🙏
Most of the local works as an artisan of bamboo crafts, farmers and raise livestock.
The story were begin on the 13th Century when Bangli King asking a favor from Bayung Gede Village for his vision; then because it took time and the distance from their village to Bangli Kingdom is far, they build a rest camp called Kubu Bayung.
Along the time is moving they quite used to stay there often times and decided to build a village; then now called Penglipuran.
