Event description

Description

This month in Worship Academy Paul will be leading us in a session about some thoughts on how music and poetry can be used to enhance worship.

Paul is a Worship Leader and organist at Wesley Methodist Church in our circuit. Paul has worked for 39 years as church organist and 38 years with his barn dance band The Famous Potatoes, and previously had 27 years at Customs & Excise and 14 years as church administrator at Wesley. Some of these at the same time of course… He is currently a freelance musician, accompanying students for music festivals and exams, the occasional choir and music society, and St Bernard’s School in Westcliff once a week. He is a director and treasurer of the Christian creativity charity ArtServe and sings with a chamber choir in Upminster.

A Reminder

A reminder that Worship Academy is open to all leaders of worship. That is our Local Preachers (for whom it counts in their commitment to CLPD – Continuous Local Preacher’s Development), all our Worship Leaders, all our Ministers and anyone else who is considering to become Local Preachers or Worship Leaders in the future. If there are people you want to invite as a way of helping them think in that direction, they are welcome too. All we ask, is that everyone who comes is booked in.

Just a reminder of our timings:-
7:00pm Arrive and eat and have fellowship over food tea & coffee with other leaders of worship, Local Preachers, Ministers etc.
8:00pm Worship
8:15-9:15pm Sessions(Sessions may overrun slightly but we aim to be out of the building by 9:30pm

If you are not able to attend after you have booked, please let us know.
